Roland Mouret joins forces with contemporary gardening and style magazine, Rakesprogress, for a fortnight of floral-inspired installations at our Mayfair Townhouse. The location at 8 Carlos Place hosts two consecutive displays inside and outside the townhouse in celebration of summer in the city, starting Monday 19th August through Saturday 31st August.
The first installation takes inspiration from the Suffolk countryside that surrounds Roland’s garden, using dried wheat to reimagine the textures and tones of the landscape. Rakesprogress also turned to the patchwork prints from the Roland Mouret Pre-Fall ’19 collection and the tonal landscapes of conceptual artist, Agnes Denes, as sources of inspiration. Some of the outside plants leading to the Townhouse door were borrowed from Roland's garden.
Rakes Progress Creative and Art Director Victoria Gaiger says "I wanted to use dried flowers from a sustainable point of view. They can be re-used. That installation can be broken down and used again for something else, rather than being a cut flower arrangement that will die. So it's much more sustainable and actually much more sculptural."
While stocks last, visitors to the installation will be offered a floral posy inspired by each week’s theme.
